Contextual Readings of the Bible, Volume 1

Culture, Bible, Identity: Christian Faith and Interculturality gathers international scholars to explore how Christian identity has been formed across cultures—from the early centuries to today's post-colonial, pluralistic world. Arising from a conference convened by the Catholic Biblical Federation, the Verbum Domini Association, the University of Ghana, and the Paris Lodron University Salzburg, the volume unfolds in two parts: "Methods and Contextual Mission," examining the intercultural potential of the biblical canon, and "Intercultural Exegesis," offering close readings of Old and New Testament texts through African, Asian, European, and Latin American lenses. Together they reimagine Christian identity as relational, inclusive, and dialogical.
